Mission

            The Biotech Center has two principal tasks:

            •to strengthen research and training in molecular biology applied to agriculture and the environment

            •to provide a means for transferring new discoveries into practice and product development  

            The Biotech Center contributes to New Jersey’s economy by supporting the state’s agricultural, pharmaceutical and environmental industries, by assisting the growth and development of its biotechnology industries, and by training a skilled workforce.

            An important dimension of the Center’s role is outreach to the public, providing information to policymakers and interested citizens.
