

Associate Membership Policy
The purpose of having Associate Members of the Biotech Center is
- to promote collaborative and interdisciplinary interactions,
- to enhance the community support base of faculty expertise and involvement for the
Center and
- to serve as a hub for advancing biotechnology in all appropriate departments and
programs at Cook and the Experiment Station.
Criteria for Associate Membership include:
- scientific interests appropriate for the Biotech Center;
- vigorous ongoing research program as evidenced by grants and projects;
- active collaboration with Biotech Center PIs.
Benefits to the Associate Members include:
- access to facilities and equipment in the Center;
- budgetary and bookkeeping support on grants housed in the Center;
- mailings and information distribution from the Center;
- participation in Biotech Center retreats and seminars.
Benefits to the Biotech Center include:
- broader base of community support with respect to faculty expertise and involvement;
- a larger scientific community to include in all programs
- increased overhead return on grants obtained/administered through the center.
Requirements for Associate Members:
- grants submitted through the Center must be in collaboration with a Center member;
- allocation of space will not be considered by the Center;
- associate membership will be for renewable 3 year terms;
- appointment by invitation and/or petition.
