Dr. Robin Brumfield has been the Farm Management Specialist at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, since 1988. Prior to joining the Rutgers University faculty, she was an Extension Specialist in Floriculture at Penn State University for five years. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Horticulture with a minor in Economics and Business at North Carolina State University. She received her B.S. degree in Agriculture from Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Brumfield is nationally known for her work in horticultural economics and has given more than 80 talks in seven countries. She has written extensively on greenhouse economics in trade journals, books, and extension publications, as well as in professional journals. To help greenhouse owners make managerial decisions; Dr. Brumfield has developed a computer program entitled "Greenhouse Cost Accounting" that allows greenhouse managers to allocate costs to specific crops. |
