Research Interests

I plan to begin retirement at the beginning of 2010, but will still be teaching at least one internet course, and will retain an office in Foran hall for at least a year. I will also be available to all faculty in an advisory capacity, instructing them on various methods of using the internet in the teaching of their courses.

In the past, most of my research dealt with post production physiology of cut flowers and flowering plants, but with time my research direction changed, in that I also included the study of useful compounds produced by turf fungal endophytes. There were two objectives in the endophyte work. The first was to test endophyte extracts for biological activity. The second was to isolate, characterize and identify the compound or group of compounds responsible for the specific response.
